"Such awesome Austrian trails. From demanding climbs to gnarly singletrack, the riding was superb. Excellent accommodation and food finishes off an excellent day’s riding. You both really are the friendliest hosts and I will definitely be coming back for more"

Lee Walker, Stafford

"Very much enjoyed riding with you both. We all had great fun and the routes offered something for everyone. Your friendly encouragement meant I pushed myself to ride up and down obstacles that I would never have attempted previously. The cake stop at the end of each ride felt truly well deserved. Looking forward to riding more trails with you soon."

Over the Edge Mountain biking week
Mountain biking tour

Where are we?
Based in Kaprun, we’re in the middle of an area with a great mountain biking pedigree. Kaprun hosted the UCI Downhill, XC and 4X World Championships for several years, Saalbach Hinterglemm hosts the World Games of Mountain biking and we’re just 30 minutes away from the Bikepark at Leogang. To offer you the very best the area has to offer we’ll be starting our rides at different locations on some days, though never more than a 30-40 minute drive away; this is a bike tour not a bus tour! Sound fair enough?

On the day you arrive you’ll take the bus shuttle from Salzburg Airport to your chosen accommodation in Kaprun. There’s plenty of time to explore, and once everyone has arrived we’ll all meet up for a beer and a briefing, make sure everyone has everything they need and answer any questions you might have.

How does each day run?
We’ll aim to leave Kaprun around 9.30-10am, and ride until lunch. This is usually up in the mountains at a tried and tested restaurant before another couple of hours in the saddle. Then it’s cake time (an Austrian tradition, you understand) after which we’ll finish off with our finale, then head back to Kaprun. Each evening we will get together over a beer to discuss the plan for the next day, show you photos of the intended route and give you a written route briefing. You can ask us any amount of questions and we'll do our level best, as always, to accommodate any special wishes or needs.

For those who are keen night riders we offer the opportunity to do a night ride or 2 so bring your lights!

The riding – what to expect
We specialize in Cross County riding for all abilities and that is reflected in our routes and trails. There are big climbs (which we can sometimes avoid by taking the lift !), miles of singletrack, technical descents, rocks and roots but also meadows and lakes, all thrown into many of the rides. Our firm belief is that it's not about how good a rider you are but how much fun you are having. Our routes are long enough for you to have a great time but short enough that we can take as long as we need. If there are sections you'd rather walk, either up or downhill, no problem.

Group numbers and ability levels
We decided early on that smaller numbers are much more fun and safer, so we operate with eight people per guide, max. We also decided that our tours should be available to all levels of rider appropriate to the tour grade. By asking you to complete our pre-tour questionnaire we can work out if we will need to split the group so everyone has the best possible time. Of course if you’re with mates of different abilities and are used to riding together that’s fine.

Special Weeks for Bike Infection 2008

In 2007 we formed a close working relationship with the Bike Infection Event which is held right here in Kaprun. Bike Infection is something very special featuring the likes of Trial God Ryan Leech and many of the UCI top Cross Country Racers. Ordinary mortals are positively encouraged to take part in events such as the famous hill climb, Bike the Dam and the Cross Country Race Event. If that isn't enough there is always a great party at the end of each night with live bands. It's a fantastic event for everyone. Bike Infection will take place on 4&5 July 2008 and we have 2 special Bike Infection weeks 29th June-July6th and July 4th -11th. For these weeks you get our usual fantastic trails and service plus we'll be taking part in Bike the Dam (great event for us ordinary mortals) or the Hillclimb/XC events for those who are up for a real challenge (like our guide Matus !). We'll be at the parties both nights too. Limited places so drop us a mail and book yours today !
