About Over
the Edge
Over the Edge is about sharing what we love
about this area and the life we live here,
and providing bike tours and guiding services
that go the extra mile.
We’re here, living our dream and
we want to share it with you.
Come and meet us...
Andrea (also known as Diz in some
circles)
co-owner and founder of Over
the Edge.
As an experienced personal trainer and mountain
bike guide who’s biking mad, I consider
myself perfectly placed; young enough to
go the distance on the long rides and whoop
at the discovery of some hidden singletrack,
yet old and wise enough to understand that
not everyone looking for a biking tour is
a 25 year-old mountain biking racing snake.
My qualifications include a diploma in personal
training, mountain bike leaders award level
2, rescue emergency care first aid certificate
and many moons ago I qualified as a psychiatric
nurse which I consider has helped me in every
aspect of my work ever since!
You’ll find me in my element in the
ideas department, hence the birth of Over
the Edge.
I have a sense of humour, am a bit dizzy
at times, don’t like sheer edges, and
love the satisfaction of knowing that people
have had a great time riding with us. Oh,
and I love to eat!
Sylvia co-owner and founder of
Over the Edge
Hi, I’m Sylvia and as ‘chief
organiser’ I’m the one who somehow
manages to keep Andrea’s feet on the
ground when the ideas get just that bit too
crazy…
I totally love my biking and I too am a
qualified mountain bike level 2 leader with
a rescue emergency care first aid certificate.
Since I was PA to an MD for 15 years and
have a diploma in management I’m a
bit of a perfectionist, which means things
usually come together just how I want.
Living here in Austria is ideal; it’s
chilled me out and made me realise that life
is very good; you’ve just got to dare
to follow your dreams.
Matus Over the Edge Guide
Matus was our 2007 season's secret weapon and we're happy he's joining us for 2008 too ! As an ex pro XC racer, he can go up and downhill faster than anything we've seen and is an allround nice guy. Everyone who rides with him has a great time and he's a terrific addition to our team. After a hard day in the saddle Matus can also offer a professional, relaxing Sports Massage to ease those aching muscles. Catch him if you can !
Oscar
Over
the Edge Mascot
Oscar is a 3 year-old Weimaraner who has
accompanied us far and wide this summer and
loved it. He’s been on cable cars,
swum in lakes, been fussed over by hotel
staff from Kaprun to Italy and generally
had a great time. His remit as ‘Head
of chaos and mischief’ means he won’t
be accompanying us on our tours or we’d
all be ‘Over the Edge’.
Nala Over the Edge new addition
Nala in Swahili means 'gift' and that's exactly what this little one is, she's wonderful. Coming to us from a fantastic dog rehoming service in Germany in June 07, Nala has quickly become a favorite with our guests. You might see her out on the trails sometime, but not just yet, she's far too busy playing in the snow just now !
